One of the main questions for a traveller: can you rent and drive a car in Phuket with a foreign licence. The answer is yes, but a detail matters: to drive legally in Thailand you need an International Driving Permit (IDP) in addition to your national licence. The IDP is a translation-supplement to your licence, issued in advance in your home country, and it is valid together with the national licence, not instead of it. A passport is also required for the rental. We'll help you sort out the documents, tell you the requirements and pick a car for your needs. Licence requirements: national and IDP
To drive a car in Thailand a foreigner needs a national driving licence and an International Driving Permit (IDP) of a recognised format. The IDP is issued in advance in your place of residence and is valid only together with the national licence. During a check the police may request both documents, so carry them with you. For the rental we'll also ask for your passport. The minimum driver age and required experience are stated in the conditions; specific requirements per model appear at booking.
What licence a foreigner needs in Thailand
To drive in Thailand a foreign tourist needs an International Driving Permit (IDP) together with their national licence. A national licence alone is not enough — this matters for the rental, for roadside checks and for insurance to apply.
The IDP is issued in advance in your home country and is valid together with the original national licence. Carry both while driving.
Documents to arrange the rental
For Russian citizens: international passport, national driving licence and an International Driving Permit (IDP). For foreign citizens: Passport/ID, Driver's License and IDP.
Minimum age and experience depend on the car class and are shown in each model's card. At pick-up we inspect the car together, sign the agreement and act, and you set off.

Amazing Service. Rented Toyota Veloz for 7 days costed us approx 12000 baht including full coverage insurance. Picked up and dropped off at the airport. Car was brand new deep red color with around 100km on the odometer. Pickup and drop off process was quick and smooth. We were skeptic about renting car in phuket as we heard that there are scams where renters charge extra money from tourists when they return the car but that was not the case with this company, did not even charge 1 extra baht from us. Also the car had tinted windshields and windows to protect from the scorching sun. Loved the experience a lot. Will definitely use their service next time we are in Thailand and would also recommend to anybody travelling to Thailand.
